THE TALL SHIPS ARE COMING

This is a collage I created last week. I used only two images and Photoshop brushes. One is the background from Teddi's kit and the ship is a tall ship that sails in to Coos Bay twice a year. This one has been in several movies. There are two tall ships that come in and they will be here this month.
I love the way it turned out.

PASSING IN TO THE ARMS OF OUR LORD

This is exactly as I had it pictured in my mind.

Notice how the old woman is gazing back at the life that
she is leaving...then passes through the veil of death into the open arms of the Savior.
The "Come Unto Me" bronze sculpture took more than a year to make its first appearance.
Unveiled in the 2000, the original life-sized bronze monument stands in the grand foyer of the
Spilsbury Mortuary in St. George Utah.
It has become a scenic attraction, in addition to a comfort to countless families at a most tender time
of their lives. It portrays the spiritual journey from mortality to immortality: an aged woman's body, returning to its
prime, and back to the arms of our Savior.
Death is not the end.

We all have an eternal destiny, as "Come Unto Me" portrays."For God so loved the world that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life."John 3:16

Miss You Mom

Today is the sixth anniversary of my Dear Mother's passing
We all miss you Mom. I think about you so often. These thoughts keep you with me. Times I have thought I want to call you to tell you something. I just look at this photo of you that sits on a shelf in front of my desk and I talk to you anyway. I wish I could do like my sweet little niece said on the day you passed "Just send Grandma Great a Text in Heaven"
Love you forever Mom

Quench My Thirst

This piece was inspired from my bought of sickness this weekend and into yesterday.
Food poisoning? Not sure. Could be the flu but what ever it was it left me dehydrated, weak and with cramping legs. This is where the title
Quench My Thirst" came from. A butterfly is thirsty for the sweet nectar of a flower just as I was thirsty for the sweet taste of anything that would stay down.
I am feeling better today and getting ready for the first anniversary of the day I reactivated Digital Whisper
I would love for you to come join Digital Whisper and join the fun. There will be contests and competitions throughout the month.

The following piece of art was created in Photoshop using a new Chalkboard Bundle that includes background textures and brushes plus a tutorial. Lots of pretty things in there.
It is by 2lilowls Design Studio

Congratulations to my Grandson Vinnie!

Last week I had a nice visit here in Coos Bay, OR with my grandson Vinnie

and his girlfriend Alyssa from Monroe, WA

They are on a road trip around the United States.
He told me he had planned on asking Alyssa to marry him after they left here and headed for the Redwood Forest. He showed me the ring and was so excited.

He did it! He ask her to marry him in the Magical Trees. She was so surprised but she said YES!
So happy for them and to see my family grow. I love Alyssa and I welcome her with open arms.
