A Surprise for Valerie

This is a photo of my sister in law Valerie.

I created this a digital collage from that photo I saw on Facebook of my sister in law.
I thought it was so beautiful. I have not seen her in four years and she is coming to Coos Bay next weekend so I wanted to make something special for her. She said she wants to see all my tins and some of my digital art.
Think she will like it?

I MISS YOU MOM

In loving memory of my dear Mother.
I lost her four years ago after a brief illness.
Other than diabetes and the blindness it caused her, she was healthy and very sharp for 82 years old.

My Mother worked her way through high school by working for the Owen family in Nampa Idaho. She cooked and cleaned and took care of their four children. I remember her telling me she hated the color blue because she only had one nice dress that she wore to school and it was blue. Funny, that is my favorite color.
The Owen's became very close family friends and were actually my God Parents.

She met my Father on a Marine Base in Pocatello, Idaho and they married shortly after. He was in WWII and suffered from what they called back then "Shell Shock". He made a living driving truck after I was born . He had a massive heart attack and died from a weakened heart at age 34 years old caused by malaria he contacted in the war. I was only 7 years old and my brother was 3 years old.

My Mother then worked the night shift as a nurses aide at the community hospital for years. She did what she had to do as a single parent. We didn't have the best of things but she made sure we had what we needed.

This photo was taken in 1957.

She was a very beautiful women inside and out and she was loved by many.
I miss you so much Mom.

Just wanted to say Happy Sunday! It is beautiful here in Coos Bay today.

My new years resolution to change my daily routine and go to bed early has been accomplished and has made my life much happier.

I found that the computer and all the networks are not as important as living life outside the online scene. Oh I still comment on Facebook and Twitter and of course keep up with my Etsy Shop and my blog but I have learned to do it without staying up until all hours of the night. When I made this New Years Resolution I really didn't think I could do it but I have and I am loving life.

Never take life for granted. It is too short and the time you lose you can never get back.

Works for Me !

I don't know if any of you have this problem I have but since I have gotten older I bruise with just the slightest touch! I can reach inside a box and have a bruise within the next few moments. My doctor says it is thin skin and there is nothing I can do.

So needless to say with my two big dogs and just plain everyday live I have bruises on my forearms constantly! I hate it. I can wear long sleeves but sometimes the bruises are just above my wrist on my hand.

They are pretty enough to wear everyday but also out to dinner with a nice outfit.

Look at the buttons on the sides, so pretty and the lacy cuff they button onto.

I loved them so much I bought two pair. One black and one Ivory. They are perfect and beautiful and I love them! Now I can cover up my ugly bruises.

ANOTHER WASTE OF LIFE

Well again I am saddened by another one of my favorite singers sudden death.
Whitney Houston was so beautiful and had a voice like velvet. She was so alive when she started her journey to stardom. I feel that her husband Bobby Brown brought her down. (my own personal opinion) She should have left him the minute she knew he did drugs .

My heart goes out to her Mother and all of her family. What a waste of life!

Why do they have to turn to drugs. Fame seems to do that.

I am sure I have left out many more but these stand out in my mind because they were some of my favorites.

The doctors and pharmacists need to monitor the stars more closely.

God Bless Whitney and may she rest in peace. The world will miss her.
