Our Visit to Marysville, WA

Hello my friends. We returned from our trip to Marysville where my son Tony and his family live.We had a very nice visit with them. It was so good to see them all and give hugs.

On the other hand...we drove for about 45 minutes just to find where Freedom was and when we finally found her the Wildlife Reserve was disappointing.

There were a couple of eagles, a couple of owls, a red tailed hawk, some other small birds and Freedom. There was no one around and the cages were not marked. I happen to see a young man eating his lunch in the shade and ask if that was Freedom over there and he said yes, otherwise we would have never known that was Freedom. We ask if Jeff, the man that saved her was there and he said Jeff had been there but left for the day.

I don't know what I expected but I thought that maybe there would be more animals. I am glad that there weren't because these birds were all to crippled or not able to be in the wild. I thought that at least there would be some information on cages. Especially Freedom since she us such a special bird. I am glad we went but wish Jeff would have been there to tell the story about how he found her and the love she actually showed him when he found out his cancer was gone. Anyway...here are pictures of our visit .

We stopped at a blown glass factory and saw so many beautiful pieces.

I had to laugh when I read this sign..Mixed Media...he used it for an abstract piece he did. Guess we aren't the only artists that use that term.

This is me with my handsome son Tony on Saturday afternoon just before he left for Westminster Seminary College to observe where he will be attending in just a few weeks.

I am so proud of him.

In this picture I was talking to her and she looks like she is listening. She is pretty large and very sweet. I am so glad she and Jeff found each other.

Of course we left a donation for the reserve. My husband is going to try to contact someone there about better identification or a guide through the reserve. We were just a bit disappointed that's all.

The last evening we were there, my wonderful daughter in law, Mica of Gar-boodles taught me how to make jewelry. This is the piece I did.

Here she is making a green tea smoothie. She is so cute and such a funny lady. We did a lot of laughing!

Anyway, glad to be home. Our dogs were very happy to see us. Now I have to get back to reality and do the laundry, cooking and cleaning.....after I read my emails and do some visiting of your blogs.

After over a year of blogging I have found it to be just that.

I want to SHARE with you this wonderful picture I took last evening of a young buck and his doe feeding in our meadow. I took this picture from our new front porch. I zoomed in as close as I could but you will probably have to click on the picture to get a closer look. They just ate and ate and my dogs were in the house watching them from behind our front glass screen door. They were whining and wanted to go play with them but I was not going to let them be frightened by my dogs. I love deer and we have several on our property throughout the year. There is a family , buck, doe and 2 bambi's that visit my husbands shop up the hill from here.






This is a new project that I am working on. I have tried to figure out how to make my butterflies look better and guess what? By SHARING my THOUGHTS about what I could do with this butterfly, a WONDERFUL fellow blogger, Linda at Lin's Art and Clay, she gave me a very good tip about using textured stamps on the clay for a more finished look. It is wonderful ! she also SHARED with me, other things I can do with my butterflies so I will be working on this for the Black Berry Festival which is August 26-27. I just wanted to SHARE this with you.


I actually made this butterfly by looking at the red Baccarat Butterfly my husband gave me last week. This one stands up on its own. This is the clay before any stain or paint has been applied. Just look how the textured stamps made it look! I need to sand the edges, stain and paint and then seal it.

On Thursday we are leaving for Seattle stopping in Yamhill, OR to visit our friends from CA that have property in Yamhill and frequently come down to just get away from CA. We will spend the night and then head on in to Marysville, WA near Seattle to visit my son Tony and his family. On Saturday we are going to see Freedom the eagle that I posted about last week. We are all excited about meeting her. It will be fun to spend the day and visit throughout the evening. We are going to head home on Sunday and stop at Sam's Club in Renton, WA for a little shopping since there are not Sam's Clubs in OR.


My youngest son Tony (Studying to be a pastor), my daughter in law, Mica (Garb-oodles), my grandson Vinnie (talented pianist) and my beautiful granddaughter Bri (looks like her grandma Patti).


So I will be off the computer for a few days. Seems like it is slow now anyway and I am thinking it is due to summer and vacations and warmer weather where people are outside more.

When I get back I will check my email and my comments on this post. I would love any IDEAS you may have on my butterfly and how to make it better.

I have noticed that some blogs have a icon on their sidebars that says "Blogging Without Obligation", myself included.

The reason I added this to my sidebar recently, is because I don't always have time to answer when someone leaves a comment. I tend to spend too much time on the computer as all of us "Bloggers" do and it is not intended to hurt anyones feelings it is simply to say that because I blog does not mean I am obligated.

I would be interested in your opinion on the icon and what the meaning of it is to you.

I have met so many wonderful people from all over the country and want to tell you all how very much I appreciate your friendship. You have made me laugh and you have made me cry. Peace Offering

I wanted to share this beautiful Baccarat butterfly with you because I love it so much.




My husband surprised me with this yesterday...think it was a peace offering for being such a stinker for the past two weeks. Love is divine.

I also want to dedicate this post to my wonderful daughter in law Lori who is having a struggle with her weight. She is struggling to release the beautiful butterfly in her. She has a new blog journal that tells all about the issues in her life that have caused her to gain weight. She is such a beautiful person and I just know that butterfly is about to be released. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE MAN

This is my grandson Donovan. Today is his birthday.
I am so proud of this little guy. He is active in cub scouts and has earned many badges already in his first year. He is a good boy and is so bubbly like his Mommy and he has quite a sense of humor. He has us laughing all the time. He us smart and very outgoing.

Most important....Grandma Loves Him!!!
