MORE SPIDERS....EEK!

Every morning I go out to my back yard and sit with my coffee.

I usually stand in the doorway until my cat comes in and I ALWAYS look around for spiders. This is something I made a habit of while living in a rural area of Corona CA. It is just something I always do since I hate spiders so much.

This morning I did just that, stood leaning against the doorway while my cat came in. I stepped down to the step and looked back to see that my cat was in before I shut the door. EEK!! this spider was exactly where I was leaning on the door frame. He was all curled up and so I thought OH MY GOSH, I was leaning on him!! I immediately got the spider spray and sprayed him. He stretched out just like this and so I knew he was not dead, just faking. I sprayed until he fell to the ground and then I stepped on him squishing him.

Get the picture?...I was freaked out!

The thing is last year I saw a spider like this on a bush outside my bathroom window and it was interesting to see it build a web. I kind of gained an appreciation for the intricate work it did. That is all fine.... ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WINDOW!!

 

 This is a Hobo Spider. Very poisonous! Their bite can decay flesh and cause loss of body parts if not treated right away. They mate in August and like to hide in boxes or dark dry places.

Be careful!

I don't know what this spider is but creepy for sure. He even has the traditional Halloween colors on.

Halloween is upon us..what are you afraid of?

 This is a little something I put together for the Zombie Fest. Dracula in his coffin.
You can actually look through the window and see him in there.

Halloween is not one of my favorite things. I don't care for the ghosts and goblins or witches. I don't even like the colors of Halloween. There is one thing I am afraid of that is real and that is SPIDERS !

 People say most spiders won't kill you but believe me if I saw one this big it would kill me because I would topple over with a heart attack!

 This is a black widow. The only thing she kills is her husband...well that and her food.

 This is a wolf spider. Ugly!! Scary!! I had one of these in my kitchen window the day I moved into my house in CA. Between the wolf spiders and the tarantulas I carried a can of spider spray around with me always. No, I am not kidding !

I saw one of these spiders last year on a bush outside my bathroom window. After watching it build its web I had an appreciation for its hard but very accurate work. As long as it is on the other side of the window!!

A Song Stuck In My Head

Have you ever had a song stuck in your head and you hear it for days?
I heard this old 40's song a few days ago and it won't go away. Even with all the music at Zumba this one just keeps returning to haunt me so I decided to make a collage using the song as the theme.

PIT BULL DIGITAL COLLAGES FOR AUCTION

 I was recently approached by a Pit Bull Rescue group looking for donations for an auction to raise money to help saved the lives of these misunderstood dogs.


 
I call this one "My Pit Bull Makes Me Giggle"

 This one actually has three pit bulls in it. I call this one "Paintball"

 

This one is called "The Misunderstood Breed"

They will be all packed up and sent to the Buster Pit Bull Rescue in Bellevue, MI this week

Lucky

 The shelter is not the best place to take  photo of a dog

The chain link is in the way.
This is Lucky, the dog my husband rescued after he fell out of a vehicle and got hit by a car.

We visited him yesterday. He is scheduled to see a vet for his injuries on Tuesday. He seems to be okay but he does limp a bit.

His owners did contact the shelter but are unable to come get him this weekend and they have no money for gas. His name is actually YoYo. They will also have to pay fees for being in the shelter and get his shots if has not had them and then they will have to get rabies vaccine so they can get a license and dog tags. I worry he won't get to go home. We will wait to see what happens on Tuesday and go from there. At this point it is out of my hands. The owners have to sign papers relinquishing ownership before he can be put up for adoption.
I know one thing for certain...I will not let this dog be put down. If I have to I will go to the media and get the word out there with my story and try to get donations to save this dogs life. I can't save them all and wish I could but if I can save YoYo I will.

WHERE DID ALL THE ATC SWAPPERS GO?

Well the deadline came and went for my ATC Swap. What happended to all those talented artists that liked to trade their work? Hummm I need to rethink this.
