THANKSGIVING SWAP

Well as promised I am hosting a Thanksgiving ATC Swap.
All you have to do to participate is leave a comment with your name and I will partner you off next Sunday.

I will be out of town from Wednesday 11/19 through Sunday 11/23 .

Also I made another Comfort Doll and plan to make many more. After the tragic news of Alisha, a fellow ZNE member's niece being murdered by her husband it just makes me want to do these dolls even more.

Those of you that don't know what a comfort doll is, it is a doll made no bigger than 6 inches, sewn or glued fabric and painted with fabric paint and embellished with trinkets or jewels and a short written message i.e, "Made with Love" I wrote Jesus Loves You on the two I have made.
They are for Battered Woman's Shelters across the world. These little dolls can be carried in a purse or pocket just to remind these battered women that someone cares.

  11. Patti first I'm sorry to hear of the news of Alisha! Such a tragedy.

Please count me in on your swap. I love participating in them. I'll have to get my thinking cap on. I love this second doll, she's just precious. Thanks for your kind compliments too! I posted a twist on a nursery rhyme today. I hope you have a wonderful day and your trip goes well.

  12. Regarding Battered Woman's Shelters.
My little sister and her three children were able to escape, for a while, at Sojourn House. Starting in CT and ending up in hiding in California. They are near and dear to my heart for the hope they gave Jenny for almost four months. They were the happiest months she had in her adult life and I have kept in contact with them since losing my darling baby sister at the hands of her cruel and manipulative husband of 16 years. One very powerful thing I learned in this whole tragedy.......if the victim(s) are actually able to escape...NEVER, NEVER, NEVER go back REGARDLESS...REGARDLESS, REGARDLESS of what the "authorities" or lawyers or anyone says. If you escape to another state, STAY there. DO NOT go back.

Your sweet gifts of Comfort Dolls just touch my heart and I can imagine, they touch those that receive them each and every day. A token of hope and, indeed, comfort.

Love and light to you and yours.

  15. Patti my heart is so heavy to hear about that poor young woman. How can someone who is supposed to love you do that?
I will never understand that kind of evil.
I love your dolls and I would like to make some for our shelter.
    Sending you love, Nita
