RABBIT EAR ANTENNA ?!!

"Reception is perfect, don't move!"

I don't know where I found this photo but I thought it was so funny that these two ladies look like they have rabbit ear antenna's on their heads. I just had to add the caption "Reception is perfect, don't move!"

Now that Christmas is over and the New Year is about to arrive I will be going through all my 2008 files and storing them away as well as cleaning up my computer files. I am also coming close to 500 posts so I want to have a Giveaway at that time. I plan to give my blog a new look soon and will be hosting a Valentine ATC Swap in a couple of weeks.

I am so blessed with such a wonderful family and so many wonderful talented friends and for that I am thankful. This past year has brought sorrow with the loss of my Mother but also has brought joy with the news that my youngest son was able to fulfill his life long dream of going to seminary full time to become a pastor.

My wish for 2009 is that our country will prosper and our soldiers will return home to their families.
My personal goal is to reach my weight loss goal. I am 7 lbs away!

Happy New Year to you all!

THE BRIDE

I have been working on a new idea. I am trying to put a signature on the type of work I do so I have decided to just do Victorian and Vintage Image Collage Art . I think that offering the original collage, the collage print, note cards with an ACEO of the same may just tell people that Treasure Barn does Victorain & Vintage Collage Art.

I have cleaned up my Etsy Shop and removed my clay art and added a couple of new Victorian & Vintage Items. You can check out my new look at www.pchickki.etsy.com and let me know what you think.

Here is my latest creation. The Original Collage "Bride"

a Set of 4 Note cards made from the collage. All tied up with antique lace.

The entire set includes the Original Collage, a set of 4 note cards and an ACEO. These items will be listed in my Etsy Shop .

I am hoping that this will be a more professional looking way to sell. I am also going to take a class in how to display my work for a photo.

I have also made another Comfort Doll.

I also have been asked to take over the "Calling All ATC Swapers" network on ZNE so I plan to be making alot of ATC's to swap with the participants .

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY !

Today my husband and I have been married a dozen years!
We met at a flooring company about 16 years ago where I worked as a customer service rep.
My boss collected vintage Corvettes and my husband sold vintage Corvette parts. I used to see him come to deliver parts to my boss and we became acquainted over the years. What attracted me to him was his new bulldog puppy. I used to sit out on the grass to eat my lunch and he would stop to talk and one day he had his puppy with him. She melted my heart and so did he.

We were married at the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino Wedding Chapel at 4PM. We had a breakfast for our 25 guests at the Rio Buffet the day before. My baby brother gave me away and after the ceremony we had a reception dinner in the casino and cake and drinks to toast the bride and groom in our suite.

My husband actually picked out my wedding dress and we did all of our invitations and decorations ourselves.

We honeymooned at Hoover Dam, The Grand Canyon, Laughlin where the great London Bridge is, Palm Springs for 4 days.

As with all couples, we have our ups and downs but all in all he is the sweetest most romantic man I have ever known. Our song was"Keeper of the Stars".

I love you my darlin' and look forward to many more years as your wife.

TO ALL THE WONDERFUL WOMEN IN MY LIFE

Time passes.

Life happens.

Distance separates.

Children grow up.

Jobs come and go.

Love waxes and wanes.

Men don't do what they're supposed to do.

Hearts break.

Parents die.

Colleagues forget favors.

Careers end.

BUT.........

Sisters are there,

no matter how much time and how

many miles are between you.

A girl friend is never farther away

than needing her can reach.

When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you

have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life

will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on,

praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on

your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the

valley's end.

Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk

beside you...Or come in and carry you out.

Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters,

daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers,

Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended

family, all bless our life!

The world wouldn't be the same without women, and

neither would I. When we began this adventure called

womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or

sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we

would need each other.

Every day, we need each other still.

IT REALLY IS A SMALL WORLD

Today I met with a couple of my Etsy Team members to have coffee and ironically Nadine ask me to put an ATC she had received from a swap partner. It was a surprise when she told me it was from Vickie Coonfare of Whispers of Inspiration ! She is my oldest blogging friend!

Nadine was so pleased with Vickie's work that she ask me to put it on my blog since she does not have a blog so here it is. Beautiful as all of Vickie's work is! You have made another HAPPY friend Vickie!

Speaking of beautiful work...you should go check out Nadine's Etsy shop nadineandkathleen . Along with Kathleen they have some really beautiful creations. They decorated a Christmas tree for auction here at our local" Mill Casino" and they won THIRD place and their tree went for over $400.00. Their work is amazing!

SAUSAGE LINK ??

Petey and Sampson. Three years old.
Are they just so handsome!!

This is too funny!
I know my dogs mirror each other often when they sleep, play or just stand there but this was just so funny!
Here they are sleeping and they look like a sausage link!

Hey...do any of you feel like you are going in circles at times? Lately no matter what I do I just can't catch up on blogging, adding pictures, reading all of my networks, making collages, comfort dolls and now I have to think about Christmas Cards! Yipes! I feel lost!
