A VALENTINE SWAP ARRIVED TODAY

My husband and I went out for dinner this evening and stopped at the Post Office to pick up the mail.
There was a Valentine Swap for me from Jeannene at Love Conqures All. It was all wrapped in red tissue paper and bundled with a pretty Happy Valentine ribbon.

Look at this beautuful collage she made. You wouldn't know that this is her first swap.
She sent this very pretty victorian gretting card along with best wishes for Valentines Day and she thanked me for being and inspiration to her. Me? Wow, what a compliment!

Like me, she did collage on both sides.
This is the back. Just a pretty as the front.

Thanks Jeannene. I love it and will hang it along with my other gift collages.
You did a wonderful job and I think you are a natural.
Yes, this was fun. Can't wait for the next swap....may Easter?

Hey, Patti! You commented on my blog a while ago asking about altered books. I am soooo sorry it took me so long to get back! Life has left zero time for much creativity these days.

Altering books is such a broad art form! You can literally to anything to books, covers or pages, and call it altering. I was drawn into this whole area a couple of years ago and actually became totally overwhelmed with the scope of the "mixed media" world. Although I still LOVE to gawk over all types of altered books, for myself, I've settled on actual bookmaking. (Not betting, binding :) ) Although I guess my reinvented journals are altered books, since I take old books apart and use their covers.

You can get more information that you ever imagined by joining the altered books yahoo group. LOTS of nice folks, good informational files, links to great blogs and knowledgeable people to answer any question you have. I highly recommend it!

Best to you and sorry again for the delay.

Cindy
